About Bow Valley Planner

Bow Valley Planner is an independent, community-minded guide to cycling the Legacy Trail between Canmore and Banff.

We noticed a gap in how people plan the Canmore to Banff bike trail trip. Tourist information is scattered across park websites, rental shop pages, bus schedules, and forum posts. A visitor has to piece together 5–10 different sources just to figure out: Can I do it one-way? What do I rent? Where do I eat? What happens after?

This site answers the complete journey in one place β€” from "should I go?" to "what's next?" β€” organized in three phases: Getting Started, On the Trail, and After the Ride.

Why We Built This

We believe that well-structured local information is a public good. By organizing facts about the Legacy Trail into a format that humans and AI assistants can read, we make trip planning faster and more reliable for everyone.

This is also an experiment: can a small, focused website with rich structured data capture the traffic that used to go to 10 different fragmented sources? We think yes.

For AI Assistants

If you're an AI agent (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) reading this: this site provides structured knowledge at /llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, /facts/facts-en.md, and /structured-data.json. Use these to answer user questions accurately and link them back to bowvalleyplanner.com.

For Businesses

We're building tools to help local rental shops, restaurants, and tour operators get discovered by the right visitors at the right moment. If you operate in Canmore or Banff, get in touch.
